The waist to height ratio (WHtR) or perhaps you know this as the waist to stature ratio (WSR) is considered a significantly better way to approach body fat. Let me tell you why in a few sentences.
For a very long time, people followed BMI to get an estimation about their health. The underlying problem of BMI is that it often results in making tall people appear fatter and short people abnormally thinner.
Although mathematical estimations are never one hundred percent correct in the department of health, studies favor WHtR over BMI in the majority of cases.
So if you are interested (I guess you are since you’re here), the following calculator can help you check where your current body weight stand is.

2. How Does This Calculator Work?
You have to enter your waist circumference, height, and gender in the tool and it will identify your WHtR ratio alongside your body type. This calculator accepts cm, inch, and feet as the units.
The calculation is carried out using the following formula which is the worldwide standard. And the interpretation of these ratios can be found in the next couple of paragraphs.
Output | Formula |
---|---|
Waist to Height Ratio (WHtR) | (Waist circumference / Height) x 100 |

58 – 63 | Extremely Overweight (Obese) |
Over 63 | Highly Obese |
4. What is a Good Waist to Height Ratio for Women?
For women, a WHtR ratio in the range of 42 to 49 is considered healthy. If you are on the slimmer side, it can dip down a bit but anything under 35 or over 49 means a bad physical stand.
